Throughout May, the Center for National and Local History Literature and Bibliography (264 Udmurtskaya st.) is staging a book exhibition "Contribution of Village Workers of Udmurtia to the Great Patriotic War Front Line", timed to the 76th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the Year of the Village in the Udmurt Republic.

On April 24, from 12.00 to 22.00, we invite everyone to take part in the annual all-Russian campaign in support of reading "Biblionight" themed in 2021 as "The book is the way to the stars!" and dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the first human space flight.

Started in March 2011, this year marks the 10th anniversary of our library blog "Udmurt Krai"!

On March 27 at 13.00 the National Library of the Udmurt Republic is hosting the regional round of the reading aloud championship in the Russian language "Otkroy Rot" [Open Your Mouth]. The event will take place at 30 Let Pobedy St., 14.

The National Library of the Udmurt Republic announces free courses "Russian on Wednesdays" for everyone who wants to get prepared for the global educational event Total Dictation. The first lesson (in the form of writing dictations and checking for mistakes) will take place on March 3 at 18.30 pm at 30 Let Pobedy st., 14.

On February 24, the National Library of the Udmurt Republic held a presentation of the book “Udmurt Kalykly Gozhtet” [The Letter to the Udmurt People] published by the Publishing House Udmurtia with the financial support of the Government of the Udmurt Republic to the centenary of statehood of the Udmurt Republic.

On February 24, the Literary Club of the National Library of the Udmurt Republic hosted a meeting with poet Svyatoslav Sokolov, winner of Luch magazine Literary Prize in 2020.

We are opening the submission period for the annual republican contest of library projects "The Big Read 2021: Active Reading" initiated and organized by the National Library of the Udmurt Republic and supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Udmurt Republic.

One of the biggest projects marking the centenary of the Udmurt Republic with a focus on the Udmurt language was the creation of the National Corpus of the Udmurt Language. The project was carried out by the Udmurt Institute of History, Language and Literature (UIHLL), the Udmurt Federal Research Centre of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Ministry of National Policy of the Udmurt Republic, the National Library of the Udmurt Republic and Noomatika LCC.

On January 26 at 6 pm, our Udmurt language speaking club "Kubo" is hosting its first meeting in 2021. Join us to discuss Udmurt cuisine!

Reader and great friend of our library Anatoly A. Chirkov, kindly provided rare bound issues of weekly Russian illustrated satirical journals for digitization – Budilnik from 1886 and Strekoza from 1883. These publications are now accessible via the National Electronic Library of the Udmurt Republic in the subsection "Periodicals from Private Collections".

On December 23, the Literary Club of the National Library held the last meeting in 2020.

On December 18 specialists of the National Library of the Udmurt Republic took part in the All-Russian Scientific and Cultural Conference “Library and Regional Cultural Space”, dedicated to the 45th anniversary of the Department of Library and Information Technologies of Perm State Institute of Culture. 

On December 16-17, the Interregional forum "The Geography of Memory" was held within the framework of the Year of Memory and Glory in the Russian Federation. The forum was organized by the State Council of the Udmurt Republic, the United Russia parliamentary faction, the Ministry of Culture of the Udmurt Republic, the National Library of the Udmurt Republic, municipal unions of Votkinskiy District and Sarapul.

On November 26, Publishing House "Udmurtia" and the National Library of the Udmurt Republic held a presentation of the new anthology "Tuala Udmurt Nylpi Literature" [Contemporary Udmurt Children's Literature] timed to the Day of the Udmurt Language.

From 24 to 27 November, the National Library of the Udmurt Republic (NLUR) held a program of events dedicated to the Udmurt Language Day (celebrated annually on November 27 since 2018).

The National Library of the Udmurt Republic has issued a new bibliographic index "On the Siberian Route" (in Russian), dedicated to the history of a major transport artery of the 18th-19th centuries that connected European Russia to Siberia and China.

On November 3 from 19.00 to 22.00 local time,the National Library of the Udmurt Republic is hosting online events as part of the annual All-Russian campaign "The Night of the Arts" accessible via NLUR’s vk.com account. This year’s program includes interviews, lectures, virtual exhibitions, presentations and live broadcasts (in Russian and Udmurt), themed "Little Udmurtia in Big Art" and dedicated to the centenary of the statehood of Udmurtia.

Our biobibliographic index "M. T. Kalashnikov – a Citizen of the World: to the Centenary of the Legendary Arms Designer" (in Russian) received the first-degree diploma in the nomination "Personal bibliographic publications" of the All-Russian contest for the best information and bibliographic publication among libraries of Russia.

The Olympiad "Russia in the Electronic World" for senior schoolchildren from Russia and abroad in History, Social Studies and the Russian Language opened on 21 September.
