Presentation of Poetry Collection by E. Vasilyeva

On May 27 at 5 pm “Udmurt Krai” Club of National Library of Udmurt Republic is hosting a presentation of the poetry collection “Malpanlen Shypyrtemez” (“The Whisper of the Dream”) by young author Ekaterina Vasilyeva. The event will take place at the Center of National and Local History Literature and Bibliography (Udmurtskaya St., 264).

Ekaterina V. Vasilyeva, graduate of the Faculty of Journalism of the Udmurt State University, was born in 1989 in Bygi village, Sharkanskiy District, Udmurt Republic. In her school days Ekaterina Vasilyeva attended the literary club and showed her first writing talents. At that time she started to be published in the local newspapers “Invis” and “Vestnik”, regional press (“Zechbur”, “Kenesh”). Later, with support from the editors of “Zechbur” newspaper, she published two poetry collections — “Burdyosy Vordisko” (“On the Wings of Inspiration”, 2011) and “Malpanlen Shypyrtemez” (“The Whisper of the Dream”, 2014).


The presentation will be participated by the literary experts and critics — Alexander G. Shklyaev (Head of Department of Journalism, Udmurt State University — host of the meeting), Viktor L. Shibanov (Vice Dean of Faculty of Udmurt Philology, Udmurt State University), Lyubov P. Fedorova (Associate Professor at Department of Udmurt Literature and Literature of Peoples of Russia, Udmurt State University). Friends of the young poetess will tell about Ekaterina Vasilyeva’s first literary steps, share opinions about the newly published book, recite poems. The meeting will be accompanied by a small exhibition displaying E. Vasilyeva’s publications (poems, stories, essays) and an electronic presentation featuring photos from the writer’s personal archive.


The event will be attended by the representatives of the Ministry of National Policy of the Udmurt Republic, members of All-Udmurt Association “Udmurt Kenesh” and Udmurt Youth Public Organization “Shundy”, students.
