All-Russian Cinema Night 2018

On August 25 from 5 pm the all-Russian event "Cinema Night" timed to the Day of Russian Cinema will take place in Cosmonauts Park, Izhevsk. The event will be participated by the National Library of the Udmurt Republic.

Guests of the event will have the opportunity to brush up their knowledge of Russian cinema and animation in the library’s quizzes for adults and children and to take part in a DIY masterclass in making a clapperboard postcard.

This year’s "Cinema Night" will be held in Russia for the third time. Hundreds of museums, libraries and clubs all over the country will host free screenings of popular novelties of Russian cinema and animation. The choice of films is based on the voting on the TASS news agency website. Of the twenty films and six cartoons listed this year (including such as "Going Vertical" (original title "Dvizhenie vverkh"), “Lyod", "Matilda" and "Sobibor"), the audience chose:

  • "Frontier" (original title "Rubezh") directed by Dmitriy Tyurin,
  • "Tanks" (original title "Tanki") directed by Kim Druzhinin,
  • "The Last Warrior" (original title "Posledniy bogatyr") directed by Dmitriy Dyachenko.

The screenings will start at 8 pm in Cosmonauts Park.
