Literary Club Meeting in November

On November 5 at 6 pm Literary Club of National Library of Udmurt Republic is inviting to the evening with young poet, laureate of Castrén Society Literary Prize 2015 (Finland).

This year Castrén Society contest was participated by 33 authors and poets writing in the Finno-Ugrian languages. Three nominations – literature for children and the youth, poetry and minor prose – received literary works published after 2010. Bogdan Anfinogenov was awarded the first prize in the nomination "Poetry".

Bogdan is a graduate of the Faculty of History of the Udmurt State University, presently – post graduate student of the Udmurt Institute of History, Language and Literature of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, methodologist of the Republic’s House of Folk Art. Speaking about himself and his poems, he notes: "I write poems since early age, but I started to write in the Udmurt language when I was 18. I heard about the contest from my Finnish friends, sent the application and was awarded the prize for the book "Aishet Budushchego", which I published on my own account. Actually presenting the minor culture in broad regional perspective is not such an easy matter, because you need to speak its language. I know it from my own experience. Yet the Udmurt culture is not stagnant, we can and we should do something smart and cool to promote, to develop it".

The meeting will take place at the conference hall of the Udmurt State Philarmonia (Izhevsk, Pushkinskaya St.,245).

All are welcome to attend.
