Contest “Young Voices in Literature of Udmurtia”

The National Library of the Udmurt Republic is pleased to announce the start of the open competition “Young Voices in Literature of Udmurtia” organized as part of the Year of Literature in the Russian Federation in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Udmurt Republic and the Union of Writers of the Udmurt Republic. The submission period is open between 20 April and 1 June, 2015.

The contest is aimed to reveal new literary talents and to promote debutant authors of the Udmurt Republic, to advance their literary mastery and to create networking opportunities.


It is open to young authors (age between 16-35) living in the Udmurt Republic. Competition entries are to be submitted electronically to filolog@unatlib.org.ru.


The following nominations are invited:

  • prose;
  • poetry;
  • drama;
  • literary criticism;
  • literary translation.

The best papers presented for the contest will be published in a digital literary almanac “Young Voices in Literary of Udmurtia”. The winning authors will be invited to attend master classes by famous Russian writers (O. Khlebnikov, V. Shergin and some others).
