On March 31 at 4 pm “Udmurt Krai” Club is hosting a presentation of the bibliographic guide “Heroes of the Soviet Union. Full Cavaliers of the Order of Glory” issued by the National Library of the Udmurt Republic to 70 years of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

This new bibliography has been published by “Udmurtia” publishing house (Izhevsk, 2015 – 240 p.) with financial support from the Government of the Udmurt Republic.

Two major sections of the bibliography comprise information about 101 heroes of the Soviet Union and 20 full cavaliers of the Order of Glory, with photos and lists of references. Beside the printed version, the bibliography is available in e-format featuring a genuine multimedia resource “Live Witnesses of Victory” comprising brief biographical sketches of 18 living veterans from Izhevsk and Zavyalovsky District of the Udmurt Republic, their photos from family archives, audio recordings of personal histories and testimonials of the Great Patriotic War. Each listed source is provided with a link to the electronic catalog and other electronic resources of the National Library.

The presentation ceremony will feature invited veterans, who will share their recollections and memories of the military service. The event will be participated by the representatives of the Military Commissariat of the Udmurt Republic and members of the Udmurt Republic’s Youth Organization “Dolg”. The evening's highlights will also include poetry readings and song performances.

The presentation will be accompanied by the photo exhibition “Voices of the Victory” and the book exhibition “Russia’s Glory Was a Soldier's Major Reward” staged by the Center of National and Local History Literature and Bibliography.
